River Stone Web Collected 11.18.2019
I preserve these webs of the Pacific Northwest—fragile and ephemeral creations of local makers, hunters and mothers—on fired clay (one of the world’s most enduring surfaces) and imagine them lasting for tens of millions of years. The work blends processes and concepts of ceramics, printmaking, natural science, and animal husbandry. Each piece speaks of the magic of the ordinary and unassuming all around us now and shares this moment with future observers and seekers.
